Happy December

The first week of December was a busy one... lots of kids face painting, temporary tattoos for a german fashion mag and then Art Basal in Miami to see other friend's work !!

Tomorrow & Tuesday I'll be with make up students @ Cosmix School of Make Up Artistry in Fort Lauderdale to show them the basics of body painting. The last few classes have done really well so I'm looking forward to being impressed yet again by fresh new minds and what ideas they have for body paint.

I've also updated the body paint gallery with a few photos from the last Body Paint Bash at One Model Place Studios and added one new photo to the Face Paint gallery that was done with fantastic photographer Natasha Kertes and can be seen in Social Affairs magazine.

Monthly Gallery Night - Meet the Artists - Show & SALE...
A great gathering of varied talents not to be missed - Friday November, 13th (6pm - 11pm)

Many of you are already aware of this great project for Breast Cancer Awareness and Fundraising. Others may have seen the project on last months cover of Flavor Magazine and the great 2 page coverage on the project.

For the last year I have been working with a top local body painter (www.bodyartbykeegan.com) and we have been painting and photographing actual Breast Cancer Survivors for an ongoing project in production.

Breast Cancer Awareness Body Painting Project:
A Fine Art & Photography Essay of Survivors

Plans are for a calendar and a variety of products and a coffee table book in production as well as hopefully sending the pieces on a national gallery tour.

Author and Breast Cancer survivor Cindy Papale will be on hand to talk and sign copies of her well known book (www.theemptycuprunnethover.com). Cindy is also the Lead Model for the project and what I call the project cornerstone as she bravely came forward to set the standard for the women to follow her. All of whom are inspiring in their own way.

Check out the awareness and fundraising products at the URL below. All profits from sales of these items online currently will be donated to The Kristy Lasch Miracle Foundation. The foundation helps women under the age of 30 with medical related expenses who are battling breast cancer. Kristy was diagnosed at age 22 and lost her battle at 26. The Foundation is in her memory (www.kristylasch.org)

Breast Cancer Awareness Body Paint Project!

Since around January of this year I've been involved with a project started by photographer Michael Colonaro and Author / Survivor Cindy Papale. The project can be seen at the link below.

I have always loved my job and felt fortunate to make people look either beautiful, scary, fantastic or whatever they see themselves as in their minds eye, however until this project I never truly felt like i was a part of something meaningful.. It has and continues to be a woonderful, humbling, eye opening learning experience. These women are so strong, and so lovely and I'm hapy to have helped them feel even more special through this project.

Holy Heat and humidity batman!!

I can't remember a time before when the paint was dripping off a child's face before I had even finished painting it!! That's what this weekend was like! yikes!!
Buuuut we made it through and it was fun none the less...

This week kicks off tonight with another Miami Dolphins home game!! I'm expecting a pretty energized crowd after the win last time!

Then workin' hard all week, commercial shoot on thursday, fashion show on friday, Bday party on saturday and I'm escaping for the day sunday (happy birthday to my mom)!

So I hope to see you at the game tonight!! I'll try to remember the camera this time :)

Hey there interwebz.. Once again its been a while! But, I'm making a PRE new year's resolution to keep up with the blog more often so you'll be hearing more from me :)

October is quite a busy month in my world, we got Dolphins Football and of course all kinds of Halloween madness! Be sure to stop by and see me to get your game faces on at all of the home games @ Land shark stadium, near gate H where all the fun is!

And although Halloween day is all booked up for me i still have a few open slots for the weekend before and for October 30th!

Its been too long!

Its hard for me to keep up with all the websites to update!! Been really good despite a slow summer.. Attending the NY make up show again in May with Cosmix, Attended and Competed at FABAIC in Orlando, competed and won at the miami Tattoo-La-Palooza's body paint convention, working on some cool projects etc... but the MAIN reason for this post is that I have a face book fan page now!!
